How to Share a Product Link from eBay?

Okay so you re scrolling through eBay, you spot something good, and now you wanna send it to someone. Maybe it is a gift idea. Maybe it is a deal too good to pass up. Maybe you re just bored and sending random stuff to your friends. Whatever the reason, sharing an eBay link is easy. Like, really easy. You don not need any special skills or tools. Just a few taps and you re done.

Let me walk you through it.

On Your Phone (eBay App)

This is probably how most of you will do it. Phone in hand, scrolling through listings, find something cool.

Step 1: Open the eBay app.

Step 2: Find the item you wanna share. Could be from search, could be from your Watchlist. Doesn not matter.

Step 3: Tap on the listing to open it.

Step 4: Look for the Share icon. It is usually at the top right. Sometimes it looks like a curved arrow, sometimes it is three dots. Depends on your phone.

Step 5: Tap it. A menu pops up. WhatsApp, Messages, email, all that stuff.

Step 6: Just want the link? Tap Copy Link. Boom. It is in your clipboard.

Step 7: Open WhatsApp or wherever, paste it, send. Done.

On a Computer

If you re on a laptop, it is even simpler.

Step 1: Open the eBay listing in your browser.

Step 2: Look at the address bar. That long messy URL? That is your link.

Step 4: There is also a Share button on the page itself, right below the big image. Click it if you wanna post directly to Facebook or Twitter.

Quick tip: eBay links have a bunch of junk at the end. You can usually chop everything after the item number and it still works. So ebay.com/itm/123456789?hash=abc&var=0 becomes just ebay.com/itm/123456789. Cleaner. Easier to read.

If You re an eBay Affiliate

This one is for the people trying to make some money. If you re part of the eBay Partner Network, you don not wanna share the normal link. You want your special tracking link so you get credit when someone buys.

Step 1: Log into your eBay Partner Network account.

Step 2: Go to the Create a Promotable Link section.

Step 3: Pick a campaign from the dropdown. If you don not have one, just choose Default .

Step 4: Wanna track specific promos? Add a Custom ID. Optional but handy.

Step 5: Paste the eBay listing URL.

Step 6: Click Generate Link. Your unique affiliate link shows up.

Step 7: Copy it. Share it on your blog, YouTube, Instagram, wherever.

Step 8: Tell people it is an affiliate link. Seriously. It is required and it is just the honest thing to do.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Don not send links through eBay Messages. eBay actually blocks links in their messaging system. Weird but true. If you need to send something to a buyer or seller, just send the item number. They can search it on eBay directly.

Test the link before you send it. Listings end. Nobody wants to click a dead link.

Some platforms hate shortened links. If you use Bitly or something, some apps might flag it as spam. The link eBay gives you in the app is usually fine.

Check shipping. If your friend is in another country, make sure the seller ships there. Otherwise they ll just see "doesn not ship to your location" and that is awkward.
